Mr. Thomas S. Brooke Recognized for his Contributions to Japan-US Relations by the Consul General of Japan in Seattle

On September 14, 2015, the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle recognized one highly-qualified individual for his contributions to Japan-US relations. In a ceremony held during the Aki Matsuri Reception at the Official Residence, he was awarded the Consul General’s Commendation.
The distinguished recipient is Mr. Thomas S. Brooke, President of the Eastside Nihon Matsuri Association. Mr. Brooke has been the President of ENMA since its inception in 1998 and it is thanks to his tireless efforts that the Aki Matsuri has grown and thrived over the past 17 years. In addition to his active ENMA leadership, he is a member of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington, the Puget Sound Bonsai Association, and several other local organizations.
The Consul General’s Commendation is awarded to community members in recognition of their contributions and achievements in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and the United States of America. The Consulate hopes the community will join us in congratulating Mr. Brooke for his accomplishments.
