Visit to the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle by High School Students from Okinawa Prefecture

On November 2nd (Thurs.), around 50 students from Okinawa Prefecture’s Nago High School and Kyuyo High School paid a visit to the Consulate. They were in Seattle on the Kakehashi Project, a youth exchange program which aims to enhance international understanding of the nation’s strengths and attractiveness.

After Consul General Yoichiro Yamada delivered a welcoming speech, Consulate staff briefly explained the role of the Consulate, as well as the relationship between Japan and Washington State. In the following question-and-answer session, students asked the Consul General various questions about Seattle and the United States.
