Highlights from the IAEA’s Latest Assessment in the August report:
- The removal of highly contaminated water from trenches at reactor Units 2 and 3 has been completed, lowering the risk of leakage.
- Sea area monitoring results indicate that the radiation levels in the ocean environment have been stable.
- A system for preventing products with levels of cesium that exceed regulatory limits from entering the food supply is being implemented.
