On February 8 (Thur.), the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle, the American Jewish Committee (AJC), and the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington co-organized a seminar on cyber-security titled “Seattle-Tokyo-Tel Aviv: Innovation, Cyber-Security, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.” During the program, Consul General Yamada expressed his hope that Washington’s IT industry will foster opportunities for furthering ties between Japan, Israel, and the U.S., and AJC Seattle regional board member Murray Lee introduced the panelists.

The panel was moderated by Tom Sato, co-founder of Innovation Finders Capital, and featured a lively discussion between Mihoko Matsubara (Palo Alto Networks), Rex Hughes (Madrona Ventures Group), and Assaf Marco (Israeli Trade Mission in Tokyo) concerning the importance of Israel-Japan cooperation on cyber-security leading up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and how to promote the cyber-security industry in Seattle.
