Children’s Day

2019/5/20
A Children’s Day event was held at the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington (JCCCW) on May 5, 2019.

The JCCCW holds a Children’s Day event every year and introduces Japanese culture and traditions. This year, they had an information booth and games such as Tokyo Landmark Fishing to promote the Tokyo Olympics.

This year, the Consulate provided information for people who are planning trips to Japan, and visitors enjoyed making origami chopstick rests at our booth. The event welcomed around 1000 visitors. Men and Women of all ages enjoyed Japanese culture.

*Children’s Day (May 5th) is a Japanese national holiday to celebrate children’s growth, health and happiness.
