Foreign Minister's Commendation to the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Seattle Association

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation to the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Seattle Association, which marked its 50th anniversary in 2021. The conferment of the Commendation took place on August 20, 2022, during the Association's 50th anniversary celebration. Hisao Inagaki, Consul General of Japan in Seattle, announced the conferment at the ceremony and presented the Foreign Minister's Commendation to Honorary President Tomio Moriguchi.

Consul General Inagaki expressed his sincere respect and appreciation to the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Seattle Association for its significant contributions to spreading Japanese traditional culture and spirit through the practice and dissemination of the tea ceremony in Seattle and throughout Washington State over the past half-century since its establishment in 1971. He stated that he was pleased to present the Foreign Minister's Commendation on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Association.

Honorary President Moriguchi also expressed his pleasure at receiving the award on the occasion of the 50th anniversary.
