Consul General’s Commendation Awarded to Mrs. Aiko Fujii

On April 15, 2023, Mrs. Aiko Fujii was awarded the Consul General’s Commendation in a ceremony held during the reception of the 48th Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival, recognized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle for her contributions to Japan-Washington State relations.

Mrs. Fujii has been a strong advocate for introducing and sharing Japanese culture such as the traditional Japanese arts of Shodo (calligraphy), Ikebana (flower arrangement), Chado (tea ceremony) and Nihon-buyo (traditional dance) in the community for more than 60 years. At the ceremony, Consul General Inagaki recognized her many years of service and dedication to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Washington State through Japanese traditional culture.
