On Wednesday, October 31, the Washington State Department of Commerce, Innovation Finders Capital, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle co-hosted the AI Innovation Meetup 10.0 at the Consul General’s Official Residence, where Japan-U.S. business exchange in the AI sector was promoted.
At the seminar, ten local start-ups pitched AI-powered hardware and programming applications to around twenty firms attending from Japan, including a delegation of ten member companies from the Osaka Chamber of Commerce, and later engaged in lively networking.

At the reception immediately following the pitch event, Consul General Yoichiro Yamada and Professor Vikram Jandhyala of the University of Washington gave opening remarks that touched on the emerging aspects of AI technology, including the implication of ethics.
Dr. Joseph Williams, representing the State of Washington, reflected on the deep ties between Japan and Washington, and expressed a desire to see continued development of economic relations in AI and other fields.
