False news reports on Visa requirements for certain countries
Recently, false news reports have been circulating regarding Japanese Visas for nationals of the Philippines, Indonesia and Viet Nam. These reports falsely state that Japan has lifted its Visa requirement for nationals of the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle would like to clarify to the public that Japan has not lifted visa requirements for nationals of the Philippines, Indonesia and Viet Nam, contrary to these recent reports. However, Japan has expanded visa options for nationals of these countries, and will continue to accept and deliver Visa applications for Japan through accredited agencies.
