Tacoma Sister Cities Int’l Film Festival to open with "Departures” – February 4


City of Tacoma will kick off it’s annual Sister Cities International Film Festival at Blue mouse theater on February 4, featuring last year’s Academy Award winner (Best Foreign Language Film), “Departures.” The City of Tacoma, the 3rd largest city in Washington State, has sister city affiliations with 11 cities in 11 countries, including the City of Kita-Kyusyu in Japan.  Tacoma became a sister city of Kita-Kyusyu in 1959, and celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. 

The Film Festival is co-sponsored by the City of Tacoma, and Sister Cities Council of Tacoma/Pierce County, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle is supporting the Japanese Film, “Departures.”  Please enjoy the film.
