![]() Applying for a visa with a COE (Certificate of Eligibility) ![]() |
Please have your proxy in Japan obtain a COE by submitting an application with the nearest Regional Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice to the proxy’s place of work/residence in Japan (an application for Certificate of Eligibility cannot be made at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). 【Definition】 A visa for visiting Japan for non-tourist purposes, such as for work, study abroad, or family stay. The basic rule is to apply for a visa by attaching a "Certificate of Eligibility(COE)". In some cases, you can apply for a visa without a COE.
