Experience Japan

Pre-Departure Support By The Embassy Or Consulate
The JET Program will be a unique adventure for you, whether you have been to Japan or not. Once you have been selected as a JET Participant, there is much you will need to do to prepare for the experience. Your preparations will probably occupy much or your time and your thoughts, right up to the departure date.
We will supply you with a great deal of information, in order to assist you in your packing and planning. Japanese language books and tapes will be provided, and it is highly recommended that you learn a few of the important Japanese phrases that you may have an occasion to use in your first week. Also, most of you will have been preceded in your position by another JET, and he or she will probably be sending you detailed information about your town, your living conditions, and your job. Your predecessors and other JETs in the vicinity are a valuable source of information and perhaps the best route for answering specific questions.
